Business Resilience Programme A dynamic programme that facilitates a journey of re–thinking business to enhance "success "through learning from, responding to and imitating the cyclical processes of nature. The BRP is a thoughtful and compelling response for, and tool kit to work with, the interconnected challenges of the 21st century.
Shareholders and other stakeholders need senior business leaders to respond to a whole new series of challenges and equations as global resources dwindle and population explodes What we mean by resilienceFor many years now organisations have effectively defended and strengthened themselves against the unpredictable using the well worn tools of standardisation, globalisation, market penetration, re-financing and complex and far reaching outsourcing arrangements. However hindsight does not lead to foresight and as we undergo rapid transformation of the political, environmental and social landscape our organisational success but also relevance is under scrutiny. Thus, we must move from a position of global robustness to one of resilience. Resilience is the development of an exquisite response to, and dynamic relationship with, the winds of change. Resilience is: Adaptability – treating every situation as unique and requiring a unique locally adapted response. Reserves – understanding what nourishes us, what our true strengths are that continue to make us stronger, and building our stores. Networks – openly distributing and sharing our collective responsibility, relationships, values and accountabilities. Imagination – enhancing our visionary capacity and ability to step out of the current so that the truly novel can emerge. Diversity – honoring and amplifying difference rather than privileging comfort and sameness. Experimentation – nurturing an environment of safe failure that legitimises our natural curiosity and instinct to learn from new experiences. Knowledge – understanding that knowledge is situational and that fundamentally new ways of understanding and knowing are necessary for working with the new context. Learning – ensuring that new insight and action consequences are integrated through enhanced reflective capacity – tightening the feedback loops. A highly participative and small-group focused residential programme that recognises that organisational resilience also requires personal resilience – the ability to sustain ourselves and others well - energetically, physically and spiritually – in this important work of our time. Integration Seasonal cycle of the Business Resilience ProgrammeThe programme is built around the seasons. Each of the four 3-day modules will take its inspiration from the season in which its held.
Summer is vivid, luscious, full of expansion, everything in nature is striving to reach its full potential. The warmth and light of Summer facilitates ease of communing with the outside environment and nature inspires our creativity. The focus in this workshop is opening up, expanding our awareness & finding ways to respond to the new knowing that is emerging.
Autumn is the season of gathering in the harvest. We shift from the divergent expansive phase of Summer towards greater concentration and focus. Slowly everything in nature begins to contract and move its energy inwards and we enter a quieter more reflective period. The focus in this workshop is around relationships; preparing others for change; preserving and letting go.
Winters arrival marks the end of all seasons, nature is resting and waiting. This is the time of the dark night of the soul, of relinquishing old and outdated beliefs, attitudes, ways of being; making the space for new life and new possibility to enter into consciousness. This workshop explores what we value and how to deeply nourish these values to enable the creation of our visions in the Spring.
Spring is a new beginning, tiny shoots of green energy push their way into the light and we too emerge from our Winters rest with vitality, purpose and clear vision. This is a joyful and hopeful time, full of anticipation. The focus in the Spring workshop is celebration, appreciation and courage as we are swept along on the wave of abundant growth to the radiant Summer. A clearer sense of purpose, focus, position and possibility in the relation to the wider context.
